Why 18+?

I will be discussing some heavy topics that I don't think an average 14 year old will want to read. This probably won't be the norm, but I just want to make sure. There is also going to be typical nsfw type stuff, albeit in text only and hidden by default unless you either click the drop down or see the page source.
